20091002.jpgThe focused, full speed ahead approach of Barack Obama is something that should be admired by everyone who dreams of that elusive socialist utopia. His focus has been so great that he hasn’t even allowed the people’s voice to slow him. Speech after uplifting speech he continues on, leaving a cloud of misleading rhetoric and double-speak in his Presidential path. Wow, what a show! Suggesting even more taxation be heaped upon business ‘to protect everyone’; FORCED participation in the Government healthcare system;  the fairy-tales of ‘transparency’ and the escalation of the Afghanistan campaign have allowed the fearless leader to add “least popular Presidential rating ever” to his resume; congratulations to him and all of his komrades.

It’s no surprise; many of us knew this was coming before he ever hit the campaign trail, but I don’t think too many people, myself included, expected him to be so dedicated to his march. He’s shown time and time again that his only concern is having a compassionate sound-byte or video clip for the networks to send out. When it comes to looking at what his words have actually meant, you have to wonder how he doesn’t laugh during his speeches. He has kept up a frantic pace, tackling issue after issue, just like he said – “change”.

The latest Gallup poll tells us he has, at this point in office, the lowest popularity rating for any President since they started polling in 1938. In 71 years no President has done a worse sales job.

According to Gallup, 10 ½ months into his Presidency, President George W. Bush was at an astonishing 86% approval, Bill Clinton was at 52%, George H. W. Bush was at 71%, Ronald Reagan despite having inherited 18% unemployment and record high interest rates was at 49%, Jimmy Carter was at 57%, Gerald Ford was at 52%, Richard Nixon was at 59%, Lyndon Johnson was at 74%, John Kennedy was at 77%, Dwight Eisenhower was at 69%, Harry Truman was at 49%.

No need to worry though; a little thing like popular opinion certainly won’t cause Obama to blink, according to White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, who likens Gallup polls to an EKG measure. The polls seemed to be relevant to Mr.Gibbs when they showed Mr. Obama was ‘still popular’ though.

  1. Randy Mack says:

I don’t think it was his job to get re-elected. I think his job is just to complete what all our previous presidents worked towards……global gov’t. There’s been a bill on the table in the House about abolishing term limits. It would basically allow for a new monarchy.

I don’t think it was either. I think that the opportunity that was created by Bush administration’s perceived ‘failures’ – war on terror, etc.- allowed the Obama ‘change’ agenda to be implemented quickly and , obviously quite radically in terms of ‘turning things around.’ He’ll be able to do whatever is required in one term at this rate; re-election is an afterthought in my opinion.
