imagesCanada is a Socialist nation. This is not a popular truth. It’s not even remotely realized by the vast majority. We have more of our rights stolen from us each and every day in the name of the collective. We are taught that there is no other way; that we need the state to protect us from our neighbor, employer, medical professionals, school teachers and most importantly, ourselves. Government extortion knows no bounds and if we – as individuals, for ourselves and our families – don’t start paying attention to the hand in our pockets and  the presence in our homes, and stand up for our natural right to be free as people, we will soon realize all those historical cliches that we use actually mean something.

The majority of Canadians still believe that politicians are held to a degree of accountability, yet there isn’t a single example to prove that accountability applies outside the political party. Each candidate in any election simply uses opinion polls to distinguish which issues are biggest in the public eye and promises to make those a priority in order to secure votes. If they’re successfully elected there is nothing holding them to any of these promises; you can look to any and every elected official as an example. This doesn’t necessarily have to do with the person’s character, beliefs or goals. Government is an institution like any other and they have a nature: fundamental aspects of their structure that are required for their existence. These things are equivalent to the Human need for air, food and water:

  1. They are necessarily top-down, hierarchical; therefore, oppressive.
  2. They can never stop growing.
  3. They only exist to first maintain and solidify the power they have in order to expand upon that power as it is deemed necessary.

Government has grown and grown – unchecked, because we have shown acceptance through ‘popular vote’ – to the point where any statement suggesting there is public input regarding the governance of the country is either made based on ignorance, intellectual dishonesty or strict adherence to ideological brainwashing; in practice, it’s strictly fantasy.

Democracy: (from princeton.edu)

  • the political orientation of those who favor government by the people or by their elected representatives
  • a political system in which the supreme power lies in a body of citizens who can elect people to represent them
  • majority rule: the doctrine that the numerical majority of an organized group can make decisions binding on the whole group

Now granted, there are many, many definitions of Democracy, and these three shouldn’t be weighted anymore than the rest; however, notice that all of the above effectively state the same thing: Democracy allows you to choose who rules over you. That is the common thread in most all definitions of Democracy that I’ve come across. There is no ‘mechanism’ for ensuring that the will of the people is carried out. For example:

Have you ever been asked if the money that has been extorted from you should go to a specific cause? No; you surrendered that right at the ballot box.

Have you ever been asked if you mind your elected officials using your money to give themselves pay raises? No; you agreed that you no longer have that right by voting.

Have you ever been asked if, and when, your representative gets voted out of office, should they still draw a salary? A massive pension regardless of performance while in office? No, of course not; our system of Democracy doesn’t protect you from theft/extortion at the hands of  your elected officials, it only allows you to choose your preference of robber – A or B.

We have no say in the governance of our own lives. I have to listen to many of my fellow Canadians talk about how this great country has given them so much. I would agree, to a point. The point that is missed, however, is that if the “country is great”, it is because of it’s people, not it’s Governmental structure. If it is a “great country”, we must all realize that it is in spite of the opressive bureaucracy in this country.

We are all more than capable of looking out for our own interests. Some of us (far too many in this country) have learned that the motivated, confident and more successful contributors will subsidize them and therefore fall into the Socialist framework. Not many Canadians I have encountered will readily admit that their beloved country is socialist, even those who may desire it. The mainstream media onslaught portraying socialism as being so fanatical and full of suffering has given good cover to the situation right here at home. As for the people who deem themselves incapable of caring for themselves, no Government system can legislate self-preservation or common sense. Stealing money from people who still recognize these traits in themselves and choose to particpate in making their own lives the best they can be, does nothing but erode the entire system – excluding no one.

Take health care in this country, for instance  - a Socialist program. I pay for it whether I use it or not, and I also  pay for other people to use it whether it’s necessary or not. I get access to a doctor who does nothing but send me on my way with a prescription, unless I require further attention down the road in the form of surgery, let’s say, in which case I will be put on a waiting list for months and months and months before I actually get any true medical attention. The treatment I will receive in the end will, most likely, be top-notch.

The actual treatment of my medical condition – which is handled by a PRIVATE entity – is the strength of the system. The ridiculous Government imposed infrastructure is the problem.

85% of all medical procedures are handled by PRIVATE medical practices. The remaining 15% – Government bureaucracy – is the part that allows people to be used as guinea pigs for Pharma, because that is the only in-any-way-immediate option for them.

The ridiculous rate at which we are extorted out of our money ensures that we can maintain ‘free’ health care. We can’t determine how much medical services actually cost us, outside of listening to the Government, but we are always told that we wouldn’t be able to afford a system of private health care that allowed us access to competitive market forces. It seems to work in every other aspect of life…

Mandatory registration of your car makes it illegal to own a car; mandatory car insurance makes it illegal to drive a car; owning a dog is illegal in this city; not shovelling snow on PRIVATE PROPERTY is illegal; asking your wife over the phone  if you have enough milk at home while you’re on your way, driving in your car, is illegal.

All of these infringements upon our rights as citizens further embed us into our Socialist, soon to be Fascist, Canada.

The enforcement of the illegal searches, seizures, fines (taxation), etc. – we all pay for with our hard earned money. On top of that we are now being told more and more every day how we can earn that money.

The sooner all of us join together in this country in atleast realizing the actual state of Governance in this country, the sooner we can work towards saving the rights that we have left in the name of Liberty and Freedom.

The sooner all of us finally see that there is no right or left in the Political sphere, in practice – it only exists in propaganda – can we stop having completely juvenile, fictional and nonproductive discussions that do nothing but focus our outrage on our neighbor when it should be focused toward our oppressive Socialist Government.

Just because the media has presented us with an over-the-top, couldn’t- happen-here depiction of Socialism shouldn’t make you blind to the realities of your daily life.

If anything it should heighten your sense of self and inspire you to get re-acquainted with your natural Human curiousity that for so many has been all but stolen by media.

  1. Randy Mack says:

Bravo…it needed to be said. Hopefully the sleeping masses of the profane will one day soon wake up, or they might very well wake up in a hell Orwell couldn’t even imagine. You think Fascism can’t come to Canada? Look to England to see the new face of government coming here. You will enjoy the new mandatory cameras in your home, and on the streets looking into you home. You will enjoy the new robotic cameras that hover around the streets and watch you (coming very soon to England). Forced entry by food inspectors to make sure you are storing your food properly and are eating the right kinds of food. The list goes on and on.

On average, there are 33 new laws made every month in England right now. Blowing your nose, while in a vehicle is now a crime……even at a stoplight!
